The Role

  • Responsible for managing data across the various systems, supporting a customer first approach.
  • Overseeing the maintenance, development and integrity of customer data.
  • Accountable for the functional activities and strategic development of the Global Data Support Team including defining processes and policies, implementing procedures and supporting / defining technology.
  • Define and implement enterprise data governance policies and best practices
  • Establish Master Data Management (MDM) processes and manage data quality improvement initiatives
  • Optimize staff effectiveness and establish performance baselines
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to support business users in the daily use of data related systems.
  • Candidate must be Western/UK Educated.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Operational & Strategic Planning

  • Assess data needs and work with business leaders to define standards and policies and identification of short- and long-term objectives with respect to data management practices
  • Align data governance standards and processes with overall organization and enterprise objectives and context, with ongoing communication of progress to business leaders
  • Drive change and improve processes, organization and documentation, and provide data subject matter expertise to various teams and business units as it relates to data management and governance
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy policies and that best business practice is followed with regards the collection, storage and use of data
  • Co-ordinate the analysis of market and customer insight to provide greater value to the customer
  • Exploit the information in various data systems and share customer insights with business leaders

Information & Data Management

  • Perform a key management role in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modelling, data access, data integration, data visualisation and database design / implementation
  • Develop and maintain consistent reference data and master data definitions and structures across applicable systems
  • Define and maintain appropriate data security and communicate with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues and conflicts
  • Update Standard Operating Procedures to reflect current policies, procedures, and data standards
  • Ensure data from source systems is accurate, current, consistent and fit for purpose
  • Define and implement effective and efficient Extract - Transform - Load (ETL) processes

Resource Management

  • Review the team's implementation of the data governance management plan and assess the effectiveness of the process by routine monitoring across data sources and business users
  • Manage and mentor a team of data stewards and team leaders and execute periodic tactical data quality issue meetings and tracking communications
  • Develop team work and balance the strengths of individuals, allocating responsibilities and priorities as appropriate, and measuring performance and setting targets

Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility

Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience:


  • Experience of managing customer databases to support the marketing requirements of the business
  • Strong data gathering and analytical skills
  • Excellent English written, oral, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Can clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to drive process improvement to continually improve processing of data and data management solutions
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment across multiple geographies
  • Ability to be flexible and deal with changing priorities and timelines/due dates
  • Prior experience developing and managing Data Architecture/Design
  • Experience of managing people including setting and monitoring KPIs
  • Have strong understanding on Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) procedures and solutions
  • Ability to project manage effectively to achieve clearly defined outcomes and timelines
  • An understanding of relational database systems


  • Experience of managing projects involving integration across systems
  • Experience of building and executing marketing automation campaigns
  • Experience of re-engineering business processes
  • Advanced excel and SQL query skills
  • Knowledge of Talend and Redshift data platforms and of Eloqua and Salesforce
  • Experience of managing remote teams and supporting remote business users
