The Role

The Role will be responsible for the timely reporting of all external financial results and information of the Group in a manner that conforms to the relevant accounting standard (IFRS). This includes production of consolidated Group Financial reports according to strict timelines, preparation and submission of Statutory Returns for all Group entities within prescribed deadlines as well as management of external audit reviews.

Key Responsibilities

Financial accounting and reporting:

  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
  • Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the Board's Audit Committee and the external auditors as necessary
  • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash
  • Reconcile bank and investment accounts
  • Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting
  • Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy
  • Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation
  • Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate
  • Prepare annual charitable return in a timely manner as appropriate
  • Liaise with the Treasurer, Finance Committee and/or Audit Committee as appropriate
  • Assist the CFO and the Treasurer with financial reporting as required at Board meeting and the Annual General Meetings

Budget preparation:

  • Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation, and prepare the annual budget in consultation with the CFO and Treasurer and/or Finance Committee

Candidate Requirements

  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude with the ability to work under their own initiative
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask and operate in a dynamic/ever-changing environment
  • Detailed understanding of IFRS and UKGAAP accounting Standards
  • Qualified accountant (ICAEW or ACCA) with at least 10 years' experience in the investment banking, Private Equity or Investment industry
  • Thorough understanding of Capital Market and Investment banking products
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role and from within a Big 4 Accountancy Firm
  • Good attention to detail and ability to deliver to strict deadlines
  • Broad financial modelling and Regulatory reporting skills
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills with experience of working with Senior Executives, board members and shareholders.
  • Arabic speaking would be a benefit

Salary and Benefits

AED 60000 - AED 70000/month
