The Company

Robert Half International is working on an exclusive basis for a global Utilities/Power business based in the UAE. Due to expansion my client is looking to recruit an International Tax Manager

The Role

Responsible for managing all tax matters in countries across the Middle East and African Region

Key responsibilities will be

Provide operational tax advice and support to the business in the region at their request
In cooperation with the local finance team and outside counsel if need be, manage the tax compliance process in the countries identified
In cooperation with the (local) finance team, review tax accruals and related tax accounting processes
Provide active support and assistance in tax audits in the relevant countries
In cooperation with business management, head of tax and outside counsel, provide tax support with respect to acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganizations, integrations, mergers, restructuring and financing in the relevant region or countries
Monitor tax legislation, policy and jurisprudence in the relevant countries
Participate and support Tax Department on wider finance group initiatives & projects

Profile

The ideal candidate will have the following experience/qualifications

Thorough understanding of SFAS 109, accounting for Income Taxes and IFRS
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience at a Big 4 firm and/or corporate tax department
Reasonable understanding of IFRS and associated accounting principles around taxation.
Basic understanding of economic evaluation techniques.
Fluency in English language; (French would be a plus)
