Robert Half International is working exclusively with a leading European listed Utilities company based in the Middle East to recruit a Chief Financial Officer for their Global Power business
The Role
The CFO - Global Power is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of all finance services to the Global Power business, including; Planning/Budgeting/Forecasting, Accounting, Reporting and Analysis, Business Controls and Financing
Key responsibilities will be
- As a member of the Global Power and Finance leadership teams, participate in developing strategies, objectives and goals that will maximize corporate value
- Act as the functional leader for the CFOS/Controllers in the Power business units responsible for setting their goals, performance evaluation and compensation, working closely with the respective Managing Directors
- Responsible for the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of the following for the Global Power business, working closely with the controllers of the business units and the corporate accountants
- Annual budget and five year plan
- Updates to forecast for the year
- G&A headcount and overhead costs reporting
- Consolidated Power and individual business unit reports in the F&O package
- Power KPIs
- Coordinate with Head of Financial Reporting and provide assistance on Power business in preparation of variance analysis, MD&A and KPIs for external reporting
- Work with the Global Business Controls team to implement the Global Business Control Framework and apply global policies and procedures in the Power business
- Coordinate management responses to Internal Audit and Management Report issued by external auditors relating to Power subsidiaries
- Work with the GVP - IT to implement the IT strategy in the Power subsidiaries
- Assist the Global Power Executive in ad hoc financial analysis and project review as required
- Work closely with Corporate Treasury in the planning and execution of Power business financing activities, including project financing for greenfield projects, financing of acquisitions and refinancing of existing assets
Profile
The ideal candidate will have the following experience/qualifications
- Essential
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Management experience in the finance function
- Professional experience in the energy industry preferably Power
- A sound level of knowledge in the debt and equity capital markets, including project financing
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Supervisory experience with senior staff
- Preferred
- Knowledge of ERP systems and strong IFRS knowledge
- Should have worked in a dynamic corporate environment before, and be comfortable with a flexible environment. Experience working in an international company with subsidiaries in different countries/geographies
